[ VIDEO ] Brâncuși filmat (1923-1938)

Filmul, care conține imagini de mare valoare istorică, îl arată pe Brâncuşi la lucru, unele dintre capodoperele acestuia fiind filmate în stadiul de construcţie. Sculptorul poate fi văzut modelând lutul, tăind cu fierăstrăul Coloana Infinită sau primind vizite de la alte personalităţi care au marcat sculptura modernă, precum Barbara Hepworth. Filmul prezintă şi imagini de la montarea Colanei fără de sfârsșt şi a Porţii sărutului în Târgu Jiu.

O oră de secvenţe filmate de Brâncuşi între 1923 şi 1938, în atelierul său din Paris, în Anglia şi în România, mai ales la Târgu Jiu. O lecţie despre lumină şi despre folosirea luminii, simplitate şi răsfăţ, prieteni, muncă grea şi joacă. Totul, în liniştea filmului mut. Brâncuşi ne arată cum să-i privim lucrările: “Pasărea măiastră” e aşezată în aşa fel, încât absoarbe lumina şi devine singura lumină; “Nou-născutul” e legănat pentru a i se observa fragilitatea şi felul cum oglindeşte lumea; “Peştele” e rotit pe un suport pentru a străbate şi a fi străbătut de o rază – lumina ca mişcare; “Leda” ni se înfăţişează ca reflexie, ca direcţie a luminii ori ca traiectorie urmăritoare. Aş paria că Brâncuşi era pasionat de teoria relativităţii şi încerca să o aplice: curbarea luminii şi atracţia ei de către masele mari de materie.
